Atelier Safiera is the work of one maker. Every bag, wallet and commission is drawn, cut and stitched by hand, in a single studio in the Netherlands.

Safiera built the atelier from the leatherworking she learned at schools and internships across the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy. The first craft she fell for was making leather handbags and small leather goods, cutting, shaping and saddle-stitching each one by hand.
From there she expanded, with the same patience, into bookbinding and handcrafted packaging: the quieter crafts that finish a piece and carry it home. Few makers still practise them.
These crafts are quietly disappearing. The atelier exists to keep them alive.
Every piece is saddle-stitched by hand, one stitch at a time.

It is hard, now, to find makers who still know these old crafts. Keeping them alive is the point of the atelier, held to three values in every piece, and every order is finished and boxed by hand here in the Netherlands.
